Lillias White is a Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Award winner for her performance in The Life. She also played Eponine in the West End revival of the legendary musical, Les Misérables. Noblezada was a high school student in Charlotte, NC, when she was discovered by casting director Tara Rubin at the 2013 Jimmy Awards in New York City. Rubin introduced her to Mackintosh and director Laurence Connor, who chose her to star for two years in their long-awaited hit 2014 West End revival of Miss Saigon. She’s a legitimate discovery.” She previously starred in the long-running London revival of Miss Saigon, for which she received the WhatsOnStage award for Best Actress in a Musical. Variety called her Broadway debut performance “entrancing” and The Hollywood Reporter said “her vocals have an expressive range and sweetness that cuts through all that surrounds her. In 2017, Noblezada starred on Broadway in the title role of Cameron Mackintosh's epic revival of Miss Saigon, receiving a Tony nomination at age 21. ![]() City AM called her “brilliant” and The Arts Desk said she is “blazingly good.” Last fall, she shot a lead role in the upcoming indie film, Yellow Rose. The eight-episode season will air on Showtime in early 2014.Eva Noblezada previously starred in Hadestown at the National Theatre in London. More casting news is expected in coming weeks, as the series is scheduled to begin filming in October in London. ![]() Juan Antonio Bayona, best known for his work in the horror genre, is slated to direct the first two episodes. Penny Dreadful also features Timothy Dalton, Josh Hartnett and Eva Green. In addition to his recent stint on Broadway, Carney has appeared in films such as “Spread” and “The Tempest”. Dorian, in particular, will be “confident and mesmerizing, yet somewhat isolated” in the world of the show. Set in Victorian London, the series will focus on the creatures’ origin stories and explore the idea of what would happen if they were to encounter one another. Penny Dreadful, which was ordered straight to series earlier this year, follows various monsters from famous works of literature, including Dracula and Frankenstein. ![]()
